Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar or firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 whole large eggs
- 1 cup raisins chopped
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp mace
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 tbsp buttermilk
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, raisins, spices, and salt. Dissolve baking soda in the buttermilk and add alternately with the flour.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 15 minutes.
