Ingredients
  

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar or firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 whole large eggs
  • 1 cup raisins chopped
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp mace
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp buttermilk
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, raisins, spices, and salt. Dissolve baking soda in the buttermilk and add alternately with the flour.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 15 minutes.
