  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 6 tbsp half-and-half
  • 1 ½ cups confectioners sugar


  • Melt granulated sugar in heavy skillet, add butter and brown sugar; stir until dissolved; add half-and-half, a spoonful at a time, stirring well. Boil I minute. Remove from heat and add confectioners' sugar. Beat well until frosting has lost its gloss.
