- 2-1/2 cups finely crushed rolled or whirled-in-blender vanilla wafers or dried and crumbled yellow cake
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts pecans, filberts or almonds, lightly toasted
- 3 tbsp corn syrup
- 1/4 cup bourbon sherry, light or dark rum or brandy
- Confectioners' sugar for rolling cookies
Mix the ingredients in the order given.
Let stand a few minutes, then form into balls 1 inch in diameter and roll in confectioners' sugar.
Store in a well-covered container packed between sheet of wax paper or foil for a day or two to ripen before serving. For keeping long periods, store in the refrigerator or freezer.
