Instructions
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a mixing bowl.
Work in the butter with pastry blender or fingertips until the mixture resembles meal.
Add the milk and egg, and stir in just until the dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in the raisins.
Turn into a well-greased pan about 10 x 14 x 2 inches or into two 8-inch pans.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the top, and bake in a preheated moderate to moderately hot oven, 375 to 400°F.
This is good served cold but better when served warm. Butter can be dotted over the cinnamon and sugar.
