Homemade biscuits add a personal touch to your meal. Serve this simple recipe alongside any of our wonderful to round out the meal. Tip: If you don't routinely keep buttermilk on hand, you can achieve the same results by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice per scant cup of 1% milk.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • cup 1% buttermilk
  • 3⅓ Tbsp. canola oil

Instructions 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 450ºF.
  • 2. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  • 3. Gently mix buttermilk and oil into dry mix to form a loose dough.
  • 4. On a lightly floured surface, roll or pat dough to ¾" thickness. Cut with 2" biscuit cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Transfer biscuits to an ungreased cooking sheet.
  • 5. Bake until golden brown (12-13 minutes).
