Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup quick-cooking hominy grits
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or garlic-flavored cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Bring to a boil: 1 cup quick-cooking hominy grits, 3 cups milk, 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Add and cook until thickened: 2 beaten eggs, 3/4 cup milk.
  • Stir in and blend well: 1 cup shredded cheddar or garlic-flavored cheese, 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup chopped chives.
  • Bake in a buttered baking dish 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
