Ingredients

16-ounce size pitted prunes (2 cups)

apple brandy
brandy or water

grated lemon peel

slivered almonds
Instructions
Heat apple juice and prunes to boiling in 2-quart saucepan; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes or until prunes are soft.
Drain prunes, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
Place prunes, reserved liquid, the brandy and lemon peel in blender or food processor. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.
Remove from blender. Stir in almonds.
Store tightly covered in refrigerator up to 4 weeks.
Serving suggestions: pork, ham, chicken or as a spread on bread.
