Ingredients
- 1/3 cup hot water
- 1/4 cup sugar in a 2-cup measure
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 3 to 4 Tbs white rum orange liqueur or other spirits; or 1 Tbs pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Stir the hot water into the sugar, and when the sugar has dissolved completely, stir in the cold water, then the rum or other flavoring.
- To use, sprinkle a third to half of the syrup over the cut half of each cake layer.
