Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 or 3 beaten egg yolks
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 cup cream
Instructions
- Scald the milk over low heat, but do not boil.
- Stir in the sugar and salt until dissolved.
- Pour the milk slowly over: 2 or 3 beaten egg yolks
- Beat these ingredients until well blended. Stir and cook in a double boiler over--not in--boiling water until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Chill.
- Add and fold into the custard the vanilla and whipping cream.
- Churn-freeze the ice cream following the instructions on your machine.
- Serve with crushed nut brittle
