Ingredients
  

  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil spray
  • 1 whole onion sliced
  • 4 cups cooked kidney bean or other beans
  • 1 cup kidney bean juice
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ¾ cup molasses
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon dry mustard
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 oz canadian bacon cooked (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Instructions 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325°. Spray a 9-inch square, deep baking pan or bean pot with cooking oil. Arrange sliced onion on bottom of pan. Add beans. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into beans. Cook covered for 2-1/2 hours. Remove lid and cook uncovered for 30 minutes or until browned on top.
