Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole unbaked pie shell
  • 1 ½ cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar can be part brown
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • ½ cup water boiling
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 whole egg yolk

Instructions 

  • Combine crumb ingredients together in a bowl. (flour, sugar, cinnamon, soda and buter)
  • In another bowl, mix the molasses and water; blend in soda and egg yolk. Pour 1/3 of this mixture in the pie shell, and follow with a layer of crumbs. Repeat 2 times. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.
