Ingredients
- 4 oz butter softened
- 4 oz light soft brown sugar
- 1 whole egg yolk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 oz porridge oats
- 3 oz plain chocolate
- 1 oz butter
- 2 oz walnuts or almonds chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375F. Grease a jelly roll pan or high sided baking sheet.
- Beat together the butter, sugar and egg yolk until light and smooth. Add the flour and oats and mix well. Press into the prepared tin and bake for 15 - 20 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and leave to cool slightly in the pan.
- Melt together the chocolate and butter for the topping and spread over the cake. Cover with the chopped nuts and leave to set. While still warm, cut into bars and leave in the pan until completely cool.
