- 1/3 cup dark mustard seeds
- 4 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp dry mustard
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
- 1 pinch salt
Grind the mustard seeds in a spice blender or with a mortar and pestle until they have become a fine powder. Place the powder in a bowl.
Add the water and vinegar, stir well, and allow the mixture to stand for 1 to 2 hours.
Add all the remaining ingredients and blend well. This mixture will keep, covered and refrigerated, up to 4 months.
