Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pork shoulder or other cut of pork
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • Fresh cilantro lime wedges, and/or salsa for garnish (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cut the pork into 1-1/2-inch cubes.
  • Place the pork cubes on a shallow, lightly greased baking pan. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour. Stir now and then, draining excess fat.
  • To serve, drain and place on a warmed platter with guacamole and/or salsa. Eat carnitas using toothpicks.
