Instructions
1. Combine maple syrup and butter in a large saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low.
2. Add apples to syrup mixture. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, until apples are almost transparent and liquid has thickened slightly, 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serve over ice cream, waffles, pancakes, or oatmeal.
