Ingredients
- 2 cups about 1-1/4 pounds mashed cooked rutabagas
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup soft fresh bread crumbs
- 1/4 tsp mace
- 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tbsp butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Combine the rutabagas, butter, crumbs, mace, pepper, salt, sugar, ginger and milk. Beat in the egg. Turn the mixture into a buttered 1-quart casserole and brush the top with the melted butter. Bake for about 45 minutes, until brown.
