  • 4 whole cod steaks 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp grated onion
  • 2 tablespoon Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tsp dried tarragon
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley


  • Rub the steaks well with salt on both sides.
  • Combine the remain ingredients together and mix well. Brush the mixture on one side of each cod steak. Place the steaks on a well-oiled broiler rack, so the pan is about 4 inches from the heat source. Broil for 5 minutes, basting once during the cooking period with mix. Repeat the same procedure for the other side of the steak.
  • Transfer to a warm platter. Serve with tiny boiled potatoes or chopped buttered spinach.
