Country Fried Steak with Onion Gravy

Ingredients
- 1 lb cubed steak
- Meat tenderizer and salt
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1/3 cup cooking oil
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
Instructions
- Sprinkle meat tenderizer and salt on steak. Dredge meat in flour.
- Heat oil in heavy frying pan. When oil is hot, brown floured steak on both sides and remove steak from pan.
- Reduce heat and add 2 tablespoons flour and a dash of salt. Stir into oil well. Brown flour and add about 1-1/2 cups water.
- Return steak to pan and add chopped onion.
- Cover with lid and simmer over low heat for 20 - 30 minutes. If gravy is too thick, add more water until desired consistency is reached.
