Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz sliced deli turkey breast
  • 4 1/2- inch-thick slices Vienna or Italian bread
  • 2 tbsp cranberry chutney cranberry sauce or cranberry relish
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Sifted powdered sugar optional

Instructions 

  • Divide turkey over two slices of bread. Spread turkey with cranberry chutney. Top with cheese and close sandwiches with the remaining two slices of bread.
  • Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Beat egg in a pie plate or large shallow bowl and beat in milk and nutmeg.
  • Place one sandwich at a time in the egg mixture and let stand for 30 seconds per side.
  • Cook in the melted butter for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
